Guide to Online Psychotherapy Sessions
This is not just a set of instructions.
It is a therapeutic agreement — a symbolic space of care, clarity, and commitment.
Here you will find how online therapy works, the therapeutic agreements involved,
and how to prepare yourself to experience each session with depth, presence, and emotional safety.
Important: failure to follow these guidelines will result in this guide being resent.
These guidelines exist to protect the therapeutic process,
ensure ethical, safe, and high-quality care,
and preserve what matters most in this space: your emotional health.
📋 Rules of the Therapeutic Process
1️⃣ Cancellation and Commitment to the Process
Cancellations or rescheduling must be communicated at least 24 hours in advance.
Sessions canceled on the same day or missed without notice are charged in full.
Why is this important?
Respecting the scheduled time is part of the treatment itself. It strengthens responsibility, emotional predictability, and psychological safety — essential foundations for therapy to work.
2️⃣ Appropriate Therapeutic Environment
Choose a private, quiet, and comfortable space. During the session, you must be alone, ensuring full emotional freedom and confidentiality.
Exceptions apply only to couples or family sessions.
3️⃣ Honesty, Ethics, and Privacy
- Following professional guidance keeps the process safe and effective.
- The more honest you are, the deeper the therapeutic work becomes.
- Confidentiality is mutual and essential to the therapeutic bond.
4️⃣ Technology, Duration, and Respect
A stable internet connection and an updated Google Meet app are essential. This allows sessions to flow without interruptions and supports full focus on your emotional process.
5️⃣ Confidentiality, Payment, and WhatsApp
- Total confidentiality (except in cases of imminent risk, as required by law).
- Emotional concerns should be discussed during sessions.
- Advance payment via Pix.
- WhatsApp is for scheduling only.
